Default red open brain PLEASE HELP

About a month ago I switched out my cheap 14k 150w mh bulb for a 14k phoenix. I reduced the light cycle and gradually brought it back up over 2 weeks. Since then my clam has regained a loft of its colour that had browned out under the cheap bulb. Slowly my red open brain began to change colour. More green spots started to appear. Now I've noticed that some skeleton is exposed on the bottom and some of the green patches are clear. I'm pretty sure its from the light change but I'm unsure as to whether or not it needs more or less light.

alk 10, calc 410, nitrate 0, nitrite 0, amonia 0, mag 1400. I have been doing 2 10% water changes per week trying to beat back algea.

Ideas, suggestions?

Too much light by the sounds of it.

Red brains don't like a lot of light.
