i saw this posted on craigslist too. the stand is attached and cannot be removed. good luck getting it into a house!

that would be cool, but how is anyone supposed to transport let alone move a 470gallon with stand attached

there is away . 1) take the aqurium apart and just replace the bottom peice .
2) cut the stand 4' below the tank . then replce or fix the stand
if i was to buy it . thats what i would do .

I actually emailed the guy a while back. This tank is from expo 86, in the pictures its very rough looking (looks like it has been outside for years) he has never filled it just had it stored.

Yeah I have those pics too from him and this tank is in ROUGH shape. Not worth the asking price IMO...

The tank was originally a cold salwater display tank for the ferry during expo 86, I have seen the tank personally it is in very rough shape....he offered it to me for free if I could take it away
