Default Plumbing Chiller into Sump

Upgrading to a proper tank and am stalling on plumbing issues.

How do most people go about plumbing a chiller into their system ?

-From the return pump and then back into the sump ?

-Drop a pump into the sump and then dump back into the sump ?

I'm leaning towards the latter simply because I can completely remove all evidence of the chiller when I'm not using it (most of the year with the Calgary weather !)

Where is the tank located? Are you sure you need a chiller?

In my living room.

I've had a chiller on my current tank for years since we don't have AC in the house, the tank can peak out on really hot days.

My system volume will increase from ~35 Gal to 160 Gal so the effect will likely be less but for now, I already have the chiller and I'm expecting to need it (but would be thrilled if I don't).

Consider purchasing a free-standing AC unit instead - then you can enjoy the coolness as well. Chillers suck since they dump all that hot air into the same room the tank is in (and you) unless you have it vented elsewhere. A fan on the sump can make a world of difference too.
