I had success with adding Prime everyday. 1 cap per 30 gallons.

I tried everything available BEFORE chemiclean and nothing worked more than a temporary solution (it was BAD, literally the whole tank was covered), and one chemiclean treatment and all was well.

The recommended dosage, then WC. Skimmer went crazy for a week but then all was normal after. I haven't seen cyano in over 6 months (this was back in 2015). No livestock was harmed during the treatment. Tank just looked really pink afterwards lol.
