Default Waveline DC12000

Well, I bought 3 Waveline DC12000 pumps a while back. 1 went on my buddies tank and the other 2 are still in boxes waiting for my upgrade.
While on a 4 day camping trip with them, it looks like the controller on their DC12000 packed it in. To make matters worse, looks like their internal overflow leaked and overflowed the sump. Then to make matters even WORSE, the Jabeo pumps in the tank created monster waves in the now half full tank and sloshed another few gallons onto their living room floor.

How many have experienced power supply or controller failures on these? Have you found replacement power supplies?

Apparently both the controllers and power supplies (power supplies are more common) are common issues with these pumps. The newer models have upgraded controllers and power supplies from what I have read.

I have had two fail in less then a couple months. One the fan fell of controller, the other I don't know the issue.

So tempting with the price but every time I start thinking about getting one to replace my Dart read about another failure on RC.

The DC12000s (as in the new version) have significantly better power supplies but the controller may still be questionable as well the pump itself, I was hoping these would have better reliability as I'm running one myself, so far so good.

Any chance the overflow leak caused the controller failure?

No, they have a sump room in their basement. I mounted the controller and power supply on a concrete wall about 5' from any water source. It was definitely a controller fail first. Then the factory installed leaking overflow drained the tank down to the power head levels (which overflowed the sump) then the waves in the tank sloshed into the living room.

OK I see what you meant, I thought the bulkhead or something was leaking and just happened to fall into the sump below.

Has anyone replaced their power supplies with after market power supplies? Or has everyone just gotten warranty replacements? I've contacted RLSS and they're willing to send a new controller once they get the required paper work, but I'm curious to see if anyone has gone other routes with theirs.

Have not tried, or even looked at getting warranty yet.
Have not read anywhere of anyone doing another power supply.
