Default Mussel/Molusc/ growin on crocea

I was going to use the subject clam on clam... But - I don't wanna get in trouble from the mods today

Have some kind of mollusc growing on the side of my nice crocea - noticed it a few months ago - just thought the shell was growing an odd flap... Now that it's a monster - and starting to disfigure the mantle - time to do something about it...

Should I just remove the clam & zip the mussel/mollusc off the clam's shell with the dremel - or is there a preferable way to deal with this?
