I've never been to an Orchid show before...how are they usually? Lots of cheap orchids?

Basically yes, although "cheap" is perhaps relative. Basically there is a display component and a sales component. The display is usually pretty spectacular and the reason I go to these. The sales component is vendors who come to town, some might be local but others will come from other places and bring orchids for sale, which will be cheaper than store bought since it's the growers themselves selling, but depending on what your interest is it may be more about finding something specific.

The displays are phenomenal. Lots of orchids that you don't see every day (on display and for sale). Thanks for reminding me Tony!

Tony you just got cooler! I used to have a nice little collection of orchids, but I am down to just one Dendrobium and one Cattleya since my mom has looked after them for the last couple years since I keep forgetting to bring them home with me when I visit! They are still in BC!
