Default Little "bugs" (copepods?) in my cheato...

I noticed today that the cheato that I have in my tank seems to be crawling with these creepy little things.... "bugs" for lack of a better term.

I think they may be copepods? I googled copepods but its hard to tell because all of the photos are close ups and all I see in my tank are little things with antennae and a bunch of legs and they are kinda white-ish see-through. My hermit crabs seem to like them....

Anyways, I wanted to make sure that they are not harmful to my tank. I'm pretty much a noob and my tank has only been set up for a month and a half. I thought it took a long time to get copepods (from what I have read about people wanting them for mandarin gobies).

Anyways, any info would be super!

Thanks!

Lindsey

Yep sounds like pods to me, mine cheato has a ton of them as well as bristle stars.

One of the reason I have Chaeto is for the 'bugs'. Did get me for a bit when first setup the the fuge as some were a different shape and smaller than ones seeing in the display. All good though.

They will eat them if they happen to float by but those fish aren't really much for hunting per se'.
