Default Tunze 9002 Nano Skimmer

I recently bought this skimmer new, and upon installing it in a RSM, i noticed something odd, the venturi does not appear to be working.

When the skimmer is on, all it does is pump water, there is no air being drawn in through the Venturi. I have checked, and it seems evertything is intact, there are no kinks in the hose, and the valve screw for the air is full open.

Has anyone had this issue with these units before? perhaps someone could shed some light on this situation for me.

Thanks much,

Check to make sure that the venturi air intake is not somehow plugged, either by debris or a rogue piece of plastic that extruded improperly. If the second is the case, it's likely just a thin layer or a blob, you could probably clean it out with a nail or something.

I tried that. If i blow in to the hose, the venturi will start, but it will die off after about 10 seconds.

Anyone else got any thoughts? I need to get this thing working.

Thanks

You should bump your thread with the notes that when you blow down the tube it works for a little while. That tells them the unit is capable but for whatever reason it stops after said time.
