Give'r! Unless you're on my "list" (which is only family at this point), your text/call will be blocked from 9 pm to 8 am.

I still use one. Best way for messages. Of course everyone calls my cell instead.

I have a home phone, don't even know the number. I also go out often without my cell, I just really don't like phones.

I keep planning on cancelling my home phone but have yet to do it. Sad to say, that even at my age I feel naked going out without my cell. Never thought that would be so.

We have a home phone simply due to nurses being in the house all the time. They need access to 911.
For cell, I don't take it with me a lot, unless I anticipate emergencies where I would need access to a phone.

My cleaner needs the home phone to check in when she arrives & leaves. She works for an agency that has health care aides & nurses.
I need my cell to keep in touch with my daughter or if the granddaughers need me during the day when she is at work.

51 shortly and never had a cell phone until I was 48 ish. I have actually turned around and went back to the house to get my cell on more than one occasion and always think of how pathetic is that while I'm doing it. Just got rid of the house phone a few months back after talking about it for over a year. We have blue tooth home phones that connect to everyone's cell so I can get my "alone time" from the stupid cell Lol.

We got rid of the home phone the instant we got a web/cell-based security system for our home (Vivint). The only people that ever called the home phone were telemarketers anyway. Interestingly, we cut the lines outside and removed the Securtek panel when the Vivint was installed and when we cancelled our Securtek security system 3 weeks after the Vivint install, Securtek had not called us to inform us that there was no signal. They had no idea.

EDIT: Wow, 700 pages of random thoughts!
