Default Power heads

Which power head upgrade do you guys think will be better for my 92 gal cube tank. Jebao rw-8 or the Jebao rw-15. Tank dimensions are 30"x30"x29".

I use 2 Jebao wavemakers in my 93g cube.

One big one might be too powerful. Two smaller ones allow for more options and less dead spots.

Also, if one burns out, you still have flow in your tank.

Two RW-8's would be the best choice for sure. RW-15 would be to much.

I can get a good wave going in my tank with my rw8s I think a 15 would be overkill. plus 2 sources of movement over 1 is more benifical IMO

I would go with the 15's. Too much for an empty tank, but as it fills in, you'll want more flow. Until then, you just turn them down. The 8's don't go much above 100%, so when you need more, you're buying new pumps.

you cant turn them down on the "else" mode which is the random flow....... one big downside I found

I use my Apex for control, so I'm not familiar with the factory options. But my tank is a bit bigger than this, slightly, and I run 2 x RW15 and 2 x Tunze 6085. I think the 8's will end up too small for this application.

Ah yes. He didn't mention a controller with those capabilities so I was just talking about the "out of the box" abilities.

Ya, my bad. But, I'd still go bigger and maybe just not use that mode. Honestly, I think all the modes are there for the owner, not the tank Just move the damn water around, corals happy!
