Default Upgrating Cone Skimmer with CoralVue Bubble Blaster pump

Thinking of modding my Skimmer that has 700 L of air/h pump with Bubble Blaster 3000 or BB HY-5000.
My Cone skimmer is 22.6" high, The pump is Hailea HX-6530 with 700 Lph air flow, 462 Gph water flow pump size is similar to BB HY-3000 5x6x7".
.
Bubble Blaster HY-3000 is 1100 Lph air, 400 Gph water 5"x5"x7"
Bubble Blaster HY-5000 is 2100 LPH air, 600(?) GPH water ??? size

Bubble Blaster "OEM" site.

The questions i have so far:
  • how high the water level will be inside my skimmer if i go with HY-5000
  • is BB HY-5000 is OK or too much in terms of WATER flow (not air)
  • what is the physical size of the Bubble Blaster HY-5000 (cant find it on web, only BB HY-3000 size is posted as 5x5x7)

Appreciate any thoughts, suggestions and reasoning anyone might have

Dud e the biggest thing is getting a pump that has a good quality impeller that is going to chop the water and air. However even getting a good pump is great make sure that you don't suck so much that its will cause the pump to be to cavitation

I would get the 5000 looking at the spec's since you have the gate valve a easy fix is to open it up wide

Thank you.
Cavitation is a good point that i did not considered before.
How deep do you think the Hy-5000 pumps intake should be to avoid cavitation?

I wonder if anyone has or have had HY-5000 Bubble Blaster pump?
Just want some first hand experience.

What i am looking for is
1- The exact measurement (physical size)
2- Water output (not air) in GPH

thx

Thank you for the offer however Deltec AP 702 is only 1400 of air per hour, with BB HY-5000s i will get minimum 2100 lph or more with only one pump instead of two.

I also wanted to thank you so much for your generous offer to call me to discuss this however i think i made my mind about the pump mostly because i already have large cone skimmer with 700 lph of air, all i have to do is to buy another pump with better air intake.
Looks like you are a very decent person, good luck with the sale.
