So sorry Canreef people for a delay. I have been sorting out my home to move and getting renos done. i am running my 100gal 5 footer fresh water tank with Blue parrots fish and a couple of red tail sharks aswell with some red head geophagus's. I am hoping to transfer these out to Manitoba when the time comes for me to drive out.
ok back to Salt questions where I have been out of the hobby since 2013. I have always loved doing inwall tanks. But I am still not sure where i will be living. I am hoping for a slab so I wont have a basement. but we shall see lol. I was looking into the reef ready tanks that comes with everything. I cant recall the names of the type of tanks that has all built into one. But I am still loving the dude out in Calgary who makes tanks. another thing I can remember hahaha.

I would love to do a 8 footer again or a 10 footer with a over flow off the back. Thoughts peeps love to hear what others think and what made you go with a built tank or the other tank with all in one i believe the tanks are built up to 150 gal i believe they are quite pricey but comes with everything more simplicity for me.

Hey, peeps I'm back and living in Virden Manitoba i have ordered a few things

refractometer.

Temp controller

500-w titanium heat

i was going to make a overflow box and drill the tank on the back but J&L has some wicked overflow boxes to use with small clearances. these look pretty cool had to try it.

still looking at what type of skimmer that i will use i know right the skimmer king is stumped. please chime in on what you would do for a skimmer the corner tank is a 60 gal corner so i am thinking 150 gal -200 gallon skimmer

the tank is a hagen 54 gal corner

the bio for this tank will be
2 clowns
a cucumber tiger tail
blood shrimp x3
cleaners x3
blenny
yellow tang x1
green toad stool leather
bubble coral
zoos
some polyps
maybe a flame angel

lighting will be my Mittras 6200 that i still have.
but i do have a pendant 250DE 12 k bulb that Doug AKA FLATLANDER used to own.

some tunze 6025's for flow

return pump might be a DC or a ehiem 1260

picked up the over flow today and the heater.

drilled the corner tank

time to search for a sump I will be having the sump remotely in the back room so i can run a bigger skimmer and a refug aswell

now what tye of skimmer folks, looking at the curve 5 but i am still up in the air on what bubble mague. vertex maybe

what are your thoughts 60 gal tank maybe a 50-gal sump so a skimmer with 100-120 gal maybe get a skimmer to be rated for 200gal maybe

50 gallon sump seems pretty big for a 60 gallon tank. My 60 gallon tank only had 15 gallons of water in the sump. Remember you want to leave room for when the pump turns off. You want to match your skimmers rating fairly close to your total water volume, if you go too big you will end up pulling nutrients out of the water too quickly. Reef Octopus makes reliable skimmers that won't break the bank, I'm extremely happy with my 110SS.
