The biggest corals I have grown are a 12" acropora and an 18" x 14" sunset chalice from a piece 2" x 4".

The ocean is a different story. House sized corals can be common. I've seen table acros 10' across.

I have a 12"x14" green sinularia in my softie tank. Not the biggest but damn huge.
