I know AL was concerned about the same thing and we even looked into drilling his overflow to allow water to pass through it at a lower level.
He has about an inch of play along the top of his tank and doesn't have any issues with the wavebox so far.
His is a standard 50 gallon and i know he tried as hard as he could to try and get the wave to come over the top of his tank with no success.

I'm sure he'll add to this...

Tank looks great Al, you've come a long way from the aquapod I sold you....

....
Unfortunately the water in my Seastar tank is touching the top trim, I would have to mod my over flow somehow.

Default 5th video

In this video I show my water level when the WAVEBOX is off and then on. I also thought I was going to have to drill my overflow. The water movement I am getting is insane but as hard as I tried I could not get the water to go over the edge of my tank. I think i could do it if my overflow wasn't so thirsty. At first the wavebox looked kinda big in the corner of my tank but now I am getting used to it. Keep in mind I only have a 50 Gallon. Another reason I was so happy with this purchase is when I upgrade my tank in the future my wave box can accommodate up to a 150 Gallon.

Also Thanks for the compliments on my tank !!!!!!! Its still under construction and when its done I will post some pics.
