Default My 75G money pit with add-ons!

Decided that a frequent this forum more then the car forums im on, might as well throw my build thread on here!

Well the cars ready for welding which aint happening till next year, so putting that build thread on hold for a bit and decided to throw this one up.

Upgrading my 30 gallon canister filter setup to a 75 RR with 30 gallon sump. Building stand and doing all the plumbing in the next 2 weeks or so.

And for the pics...

Just got it home yesterday

Got the frame built last night and Leds on to see some tank action

Today reinforced the back and bottom with 1/4" plywood, and the top with 5/8" plywood.

Ill be cutting a maple front piece and sides. Stained whatever i have laying around the shop (pretty much black with grain still showing), and spraying lacquer finish coat start of next week.

Well i guess a couple weeks meant a couple days...

Got the stand sealed

20lbs of new sand mixed with the sand from my old tank

Up and running, no leaks

With half of my corals in

Also installed leds in sump area, a protein skimmer and a new heater! Did all my tests today and everything looks good!

7 days later and its complete. Finished up the stand today, stained it a charcoal color and sprayed with 40 degree lacquer. Pics do not do justice, paid 45 bux for the materials and a couple hours labor and very happy with the end result.

Couple pics of the setup.

I love the couch in front of the tank and not a tv. That alone looks promising! Looking great so far. Is the other hole on the right side of the overflow also an outlet?

Well got bored yesterday and decided to plumb another tank in to hold a buddies fish and corals for a couple months. Steve (94turbcoupe) had the bright idea that hey the more tanks the better, so instead of jus the one tank we also added a second water change/quarantine tank on the left.

Big thanks to Steve! Dont worry i made sure your beer was taken care of after you left!

Waiting for the silicone to dry on the second tank, will be up and running today!

Also Picked up a 6 bulb fixture, and the zeo-vit system. Hung the lights from a pulley system for easy maintenance and because that's just plain awesome!!

Tank is lookin purple now!

What the neighbors see, lol.
