Default water pump advice

I have pretty much had it with the resun 590 pump that comes with my vertex skimmer. I have had it replaced once already and the new one is starting to be a problem. Can anyone suggest a pump that I can replace this one with?
quieter and reliable would be nice changes.
Did I mention the skimmer is 4 months old....really like it but the pump not so much.

You could probably go with a Sedra KSP-5000 needle wheel pump, these are commonly used on Euro Reef skimmers and ASM skimmers, the Resun is a cheap knock-off of this pump. There's also the Gen-X line up which the essentially the same as the Sedra. You just have to be sure with either Sedra or Gen-X to get the new model which is smaller than the older model.

Most retailers and online sellers do not list these pumps or stock them but they can usually order them in if requested.

I have a GenX 4100 that came with my Euro-Reef RS 180. Bit noisy for my liking.
Was run for less than a day and then I upgraded.
Make me an offer.

The 4100 is significantly larger than the Resun 590, it's not a good match. Your vertex may not be able to keep up and even if it does the chamber may be too turbulent to skim properly.

What size vertex are you running?
