Default New Year's Resolutions...

List em!

1. Quit smoking. I'm officially smoking my last cigarette as I type this.
2. Get back into the shape I was when I played competative soccer. I'm 5'7" and when I was playing soccer used to be a slim but tonned 145. In the 5 years since I wrecked myself (tore my acl, and mcl and destroyed my shoulder all in one shot...quite impressive if I do say so myself) I've gained 40lbs...so now to shed em! I need to ease my way back into training mode, but I'm damned determined to do it.

I'm going to try and quit smoking also.
Good luck with your resolutions.

For me its to move back somewhere hot! We are looking to move to the Caribbean (my fiance is from Trinidad), specifically Barbados as she has a job there if she wants. I don't know if thats really a resolution but we kind of made it ours. We'll see if it actually happens though.

Otherwise, for me its a career change this year. I am not sure to what yet but I get very bored with jobs quickly and with a big paycut this year, my industry it not worth it anymore!

Good luck to everyone with their resolutions!

My resolution is to not have New Years Resolutions but New Day Resolutions.

Hold goals for personnel improvement everyday and not just Jan 1st That way when you have a cigarette Feb 2 you don't have to wait until next year to try quitting again, but thankfully I don't smoke so I'll have to think of things that are a little more creative

that's a great way to look at things actually...
I read Johnny Cash's last autobiography and he had the same philosophy sort of. Every morning before he put his feet on the ground he would say good morning to god and ask him for the help to be a better man than he was the day before. Really interesting actually. I've sort of taken that up after recent health problems (another reason why I'm quitting smoking)..I wake up, greet the day and ask for the strength to get through it. I don't know if it's doing any good, but it makes me feel better about the day before it even really starts

Mine is to quit buying Nicorette. I have about 5 boxes stockpiled - when they are gone, I'm quitting the gum! I've been chewing it since I smoked my last cigarette 5 and a half years ago :P

Kudos to those quitting smoking - it's a tough thing to do, but it's possible, and certainly well worth it. I agree with the posts saying January 1st doesn't have to be 'the day', so keep trying if you fall off the wagon this month. My last cigarette was August 31st, 2003 at Lake Louise - I planned it that way, and it's a nice way to remember it
