Default ID please

My friend just got back from maui, and said these were all over the rocks on the east shore.

Any ideas...
Looks like some sort of anemone.

cool animal! when i first saw, it i thought i saw six equal radial segments, so i disregarded the possibility that it was an echinoderm (who have pentaradial symmetry). but that definitely is a shield urchin (according to google) so maybe the pentaradial symmetry is internal.
