Default Tell me this isn't Aiptasia!!

Nervous Nelly here again. I have these anemone looking fellers in my tank. I have a bad feeling it is Aiptasia but want a second opinion, before I open a can of whoop a$$ on them. Some of my research says they are, some says they aren't. Meleve has a picture of one that looks close but all the rest of his pics don't resemble what I have. For what it's worth one is growing beside some leathers and appears to be stinging the crap out of it. What ever it is it needs to go. I've taken several pics and will post up the best one.

Thanks in Advance,
Brad

Sounds like you've answered your own question.

"Tell me this isn't Aiptasia!!"

That isn't Aiptasia!

Just kidding. It looks like it, though the picture w/ the flash makes it difficult to tell.

There are five of them in the tank. Only one needs to go for sure. If the other four aren't aiptasia then they can stay.

Thanks
Brad

Looks more like a majano (sp) anemone if you ask me but it is difficult to tell from the picture.
If it is I would nuke the works as they are just as bad as aptasia and harder to kill.

Looks more like aiptasia to me rather than majano. Nevertheless they are still undesirable and should be eliminated.

ok, it's not aptasia ... isn't that what you wanted to hear?

Tough to tell by the pictures but it does look more like majano. Either way, a little Joe's Juice or boiling water in a syrnge should take care of it. Better to wipe it out early before it spreads even more.

Crap. I hate this hobby and I've only been in it for 169 hrs and 3 minutes. JK. Thanks for the input. Bring on the boiling water. Need to order some of Joe's juice tomorrow, gonna be a battle.

Thanks for the input,
Brad
