Default lighting?

Hi, can I run a 400watt radium on my 400 watt M59 ballast?
Also could I get 2 WH7's(=440watts right) and power 3 VHO bulbs (each bulb is 140watts total=420watts)?
Thanx
Trevor

Yes and I think so. The radium might be a bit blue on that ballast, but I ran one on my frag tank with an M59.

Where does one find alternative ballasts for MH - as opposed to the ones I buy from JL? I seem to have need of a couple more.... and $400 kinda hurts...

Any lighting shop or hydroponics shop should have them. I got my "just like PFO HQI" ballasts for $89 ea.

Yep, WH7's will give you total of 440W... but 220 each. Whatever you do don't cross the power over on the ballasts to run the bulb or you will fry one, possibly both of them. Your best bet would be to either just run two and have a spare bulb, or get another ballast. Trust me, though, don't cross the ballasts over.

no no no, you will need 3 wh7's to run 3 140 watt bulbs.
