Default corals dying?

I hear a lot of talk from people having problems with their tank that can't seem to get diagnosed. I got to wondering since the parameters all seem to be within range, what causes these problems? Here's a thought/question......How many people that get sick coral, particularily sps, smoke in their house or around their tanks? If you answer yes, I would suggest that this might be at least part of the problem as you are polluting your tank. There is a lot of air getting sucked into the system via skimmer pumps, etc. so it stands to reason that it would have an affect on the health of ones reef. Any thoughts?

Might be the case for some, but I've had limited success with SPS and not one cigarette has ever been smoked in my house - ever. I've had excellent results with all my LPS, so I'm thinking that it may be a chemical thing going on and the LPS are winning.

I have always wondered how anthing from Wai's can survive the atmosphere in there though. It's always thick with stale smoke smell in there.

Two of us smoke in my house.Since summer there has been a no smoking in the house rule.Since then I haven't noticed much of a difference in the corals, but it seems my skimmers are putting out more than they used to.

No smoking around here either, although its definitely a criteria that we should ask in the future.
