Default And so it begins

Well I have taken the plunged and order a Redsea REEFER 450, that is a 90 gal rimless display tank with a 25 Gal sump. It only comes with DT, sump and stand so now to find all the equipment needed.

My goal here is to keep if very quiet, and looking good (even on the outside) so that it fits into my living room.

I am trying to keep the cost lower by finding some used pieces of equipment. I have started my research and trying to find some deals. I have been out of the hobby for 12 years and a lot has changed. Used to run a 50 Gal reef tank, with a homemade skimmer, homemade overflow and homemade lighting too! I think this time I will let the professionals do the building!

Enjoy your build, I'll be following along. I almost decided on the same tank before changing my mind to custom.

What do you plan on keeping in it?

Besides water? LOL I am thinking of a mixed reef, nothing too far outside the box. I love corals but only have experience with soft coral in the past so going to try to up that a notch. As soon as I saw the redsea reefer, I knew that it was the tank for me, such clean lines!

The waiting is killing me...but lots of fun putting together the equipment...so far I have nothing!...but getting close on a few deals.

PM me if you need any particular equipment starting up, I may have stuff for you.

I had considered it but right when I was ready to order they jacked up the price because of the USD/loonie exchange rate. Blessing in disguise though, as I was able to custom order something that I would truly be happy with from Denny at Concept, for a fraction of the price. Feel free to check out my build thread if you have time
