Default Abbotsford Airshow

Took the kids to the airshow today. Kids were kind of rotten but the show was pretty good. Here's a few highlights;

CF-18

F-86

Snowbirds

F16

F-18F going reeeeeally fast

Very nice shots Ron!

What gear are you shooting?

Is that a sonic boom in the last one?

Thanks for sharing, wish I could have gone this year. I haven't been to any airshows for quite a while .

Great pic of that sonic boom!

Thanks guys. It was my first time really photographing aircraft but I have lots of practice shooting race cars so it wasn't to dissimilar.

I am using a Canon 30D and was shooting with a 100-400IS L lens. And yes, that was a sort of sonic boom. The plane was just hovering around the sound barrier and the shock wave kind of flickered in and out as the plane flew by if that makes sense.
