I got rid of mine for that exact reason. Little buggers used to frighten the life out of me

I have wanted to huck Mine out the window more than a few times because it bit me really good. But lucky for him it was my first fish in this tank so I let him be.

Yeah, they sure aren't the lovable little nemo fish as portrayed in the movie, haha,... more like ferocious man-eating piranhas.

Solutions are easy. The real difficulty lies in discovering the problem.

My Mama Maroon has never bitten the hand that feeds her. Takes runs at it if I mess around too close, but always turns back to the protection of the BTS before committing to the 'bite'. Hand in the tank anywhere more than a foot away from the BTA doesn't phaze her a bit, she couldn't be bothered. And Maroons are supposedly one of the more vicious species we keep, go figure. She's a savvy critter, knows the time every evening when I approach the tank with a spoonful of mysis & brine shrimp. Comes right up close to the surface to get first crack at the goods before the other fishes.

Yellow Tang has taken a swipe or two with his scalpel, but no hits there yet either.
