just the clownfish peeled... the yellow disappeared i assumed it was the anemone and the firefish had no markings just breathing hard and let the cleaner shrimp get right into his gills and mouth...

my only other suggestion is where in your tank do you take your test water from? most people just dip near the surface for testing, now if you have inadequate flow or the flow doesnt circulate properly you could have "deadspots" or areas in the tank where you have a build up of ammonia/nitrates.... try taking samples all over your tank, or use some purple up or any other milky suppliment to "test" your flow...... other then that im sumped...

yeah i just looked at velvet photos and thats exactually what my clown looked like... id tell you how i really feel at this point in time but, the moderators would close the thread so now if theres some magical way my other picaso clown doesnt die how can i "rid" the system of velvet so if i add any other fish later i wont kill them?

and i set up the 26 so i could keep my clowns and firefish....

Empty your display tank of ALL remaining fish (sounds like you did and they're in a QT) Treat the fish with seachem cupramine in QT tank and leave the display fishless for a minimum of 6-8 weeks.

I had velvet go through my tanks a couple of years ago worst disease ever in this hobby.

Here's a link to the thread I did when I had velvet, lots of info in it.

Do you have a uv sterilizer? Or access to one? How large is your tank?? 8-12 weeks would be better and some more aggressive water changes 25-30% unless you have very sensitive corals or clams in system, then just 10-15% is fine. After the qt time has passed, do not try to restock too quickly. That can set up even more issues. Good luck I know its a hard thing to go through. Been there done that
