Default Overflow

I am in the process of building my first marine tank. I have decided to drill My tank for an overflow. My question is that when the manufacturers state the maximum overflow rate, are they including all of the drains. Example: Eshopps Eclipse L says maximum 1000 GPH. Does that mean all 3 drains total?

Default

The 3 drain overflow is known as a "Bean Animal" the main drain is a full siphon the 2nd drain is a open channel and only has a trickle of water entering it, the 3rd drain is emergency only and remains dry under normal operation. The 1000 gph rating would be for the main drain.
