Default Bit of an install journal and a few pics of my system

Concept tank
Concept sump
Spit.fire stand (i get in crap whenever i post my company name lol)
Sheeting done by some other guy
Install by that spit.fire guy

ignore the power bar on the side, its just temporary until everything is mounted in the stand

Omega 150 is getting replaced with a bk 200 i believe

temporary filter sock inserts until the nice ones from concept arrive (probably shortly after i finally confirm my order)
between the lid and the inserts the filter socks are dead silent

Nice work on the setup! I've been trying to find a way to quiet my 7" sock area, and saw the ones Dave posted today. Will be interested to hear how they work out for you.

explain the filter sock chamber a bit more if you don't mind. I have dual 4" on my DT and a 7" on my frag tank and both are quite annoying....I fill the socks with filter floss to quiet them down but ive been on the hunt for plastic mesh pots I can just fill with filter floss to eliminate washing socks all together but this looks interesting.

thanks

I don't see the issue with noisy socks.
I've been running 2 different designs for over 7 years now and neither was/is noisy

My socks are held by a piece of plex at the top of the water line in the highest point in my sump where the water comes from the DT. There is an inch drop from the socks to the water level in the next chamber.

I'd like to see what designs are causing noise ...

all it does is stops the noise of the water entering the socks, doesnt prevent cleaning them, i use the nylon filter socks to make them easier to clean as you can just rinse them under the tap for a second to get them clean
