Default FS - 135 Gallon System

Custom built by Sea Star / H20 Aquariums. It is a complete set up designed to run near silent and minimize maintenance. This is not only a showpiece aquarium, viewable from four sides with a central overflow, but also a serious coral growing machine. I may be moving in 2010, and will be unable to take my tank. I am taking offers on the full system including livestock or the full system only. If the system is sold without livestock, livestock will be parted out at that time. Asking $5000 for tank and livestock. I will help deliver to Vancouver Island or the lower mainland if needed. I have included a detailed listing of the tank. More information and photos can be found from the links at the bottom of the page.

Tank: ‘Lay down’ 135 gallon custom built by Seastar / H20 Aquariums. Central overflow, eurobracing. Overflow is located in the center of the tank, all four sides of the aquarium are completely unobstructed by the overflow. The tank has 4 bulkheads in the overflow - two for the herbie style silent overflow, one for return plumbing and one for powercords. Dimensions are 6’ long x 18” High x 24” wide. The tank is overbuilt and is made out of ˝ and 5/8th inch glass.

Sump: ~45 gallon custom built by Seastar / H20 Aquariums. Contains an area for growing cheato, a skimmer area and and a return area. There is a bubble trap and baffles. The sump is drilled with two bulkheads to allow for flexibility in return pump setups.

Top Off Reservoir: ~20 gallon, custom built by Seastar / H20 Aquariums. Complete with a RO/DI line attachment, float valve and low water level sensor. Serviced by the profilux controller and a majijet 1200.

Lighting: 2 x 400 W MH. Driven by a remote magnetic ballast with quick disconnects. Reflectors are built into the canopy.
2 x 54 W T5 DIMMABLE, controlled by the profilux controller. Creates excellent morning and night effects, dimmable from 0 to 100% and able to simulate cloud cover.
2 x Profilux LED light effects sticks. Able to simulate sunrise / sunset / white moon / blue moon and lightening
1 x CF sump lighting.

Stand: Made of heavy plywood, 2 x 4s and marine grade paint, the stand is overbuilt. It is complete with doors with matching vent covers. It is designed to contain spills, and has a separate electronics compartment. The stand has an elegant look with six heavy-duty feet (felt bottoms). It has the added advantage of saving your floor by not allowing spills to run under the tank.

Canopy: Matches the stand. Has a easy open side, where each half opens independently for easy feeding. The other side opens as well to allow complete access to the tank. Power cords are brought into the canopy through the central overflow, so no cords are left to dangle over the side. Two high end fans, controlled by the profilux computer control the tempature in the canopy keeping the tank cool, saving energy and running near silent.

Controllers / Electronics: Profilux computer controls the system. This high end controller manages temp, pH, lighting (sunrise, sunset, dimmable T5’s, halides, lightening effects, moonlighting, cloud simulations and high temperature shut off), top off (level in the sump / tank, level in the top off reservoir), dosing and much much more. The profilux includes:
- Profilux ProPlus II eX Controller ( http://www.aquariumcomputer.com/Syst...lus_ii_ex.html )
- USB attachment ( http://progressivereef.com/proddetail.php?prod=PLM-USB )
- 2 Digital Powerbars (makes 12 controllable outlets) http://progressivereef.com/proddetail.php?prod=PL-0294
- Two magnetic float level sensors http://progressivereef.com/proddetail.php?prod=PL-0077
- One optical float level sensor http://progressivereef.com/proddetail.php?prod=PL-0082
- Tempature Probe
- pH probe, calibration fluid
- Three pump dosing unit ( http://progressivereef.com/proddetail.php?prod=PL-0348
- Dimmable T5 lighting (Similar to: http://progressivereef.com/proddetail.php?prod=GHLT5 )
- LED lighting effects sticks http://progressivereef.com/proddetail.php?prod=PL-0373
Other electronics include:
- Heavy duty metal powerbar
- High end automatic feeder

Return Pump: Snapper 2500 GPH snapper. Chosen for its quiet operation, low heat transfer, high efficiency and reliability. This pump runs both the return and skimmer. It is plumbed in with unions and valves so it can easily be isolated and removed if a problem ever arises. http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/s...ct_ID=wp-seq00

Skimmer: Custom built skimmer, similar to a bullet skimmer. A beckett type skimmer, with external skim mate removal and air muffler. Powered by the return pump on a ball valve, allows for quiet efficient operation.

Powerhead: Tunze 2055, controllable by the profilux controller.

Plumbing: Plumbing is unioned and is able to be isolated where applicable. Return line is T’ed and includes ‘loc line’, so flow can be directed.

Livestock:
Liverock: ~ 100lbs, much of it covered in corals
Fish: Show size Royal Blue Tang, Show size Yellow Tang, Kole Tang, Six line wrasse, Mated pair Tomato clownfish, pink spot goby.
Inverts: Shrimp, several crabs, snails
Corals: Several species of zoos, a small amount of SPS corals, GSP, toadstools, anenomes several species of mushrooms, frogspawn and lots of other stuff.

Other equipment:
Testing equipment
100 GPD RO/DI filter
Mixing bucket with plumbing and built in pump
Salt
Several years worth of supplements (pharmaceutical grade Ca, Mg, Buffer)
Ect.

The system was designed with silence in mind, a herbie overflow and snapper pump running the return and skimmer accomplish this. Cooling is accomplished by two 4” 50 cfm fans in the canopy, these specially ordered German engineered fans keep the tank cool while being near silent. The profilux controller makes the system near maintenance free. I have left the tank for upto 10 days with no supervision and no ill consequence. If you are interested in this tank, please come by and take a look. Delivery and set up help on the Island or the lower mainland available. Find out more at:
