I haven't used mine yet, they're just sitting in my storage room, but so far they've been real quiet.

We have used Little Giant pumps for seven years. Quiet ? I don't know, cuz I can't hear over the rushing water sounds...

The LG 3 series is quiet (fanless) but all the other LG pumps I've heard are quite loud due to the cooling fan.

I use a 1600 GPH submersible and it is not bad. Slight hum when it comes detatched from the bottom but when it is secured it runs pretty quiet. Has been used for about four months. Pond Pro series, got it for like 130 bucks.

My $0.02

I think Pond Pro is a Danner Magdrive pump isn't it?

I have a little giant 5 series pumping water from my sump in the basement to the upstairs. It is extremely noisy and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I does however have a lot of power as I must have about 13 vertical feet of head and the pump still produces 750gph. Since it only produces 1100gph with 0' head that isn't much loss. I believe that the reason it is so noisy is because of the cooling fan and the high pressure it runs at.

which LG 5 series do you have? I was using the 5.5TE 1/2HP for my set up wich is very similar to yours and I was getting around 1800 GPH @11' head. I stopped using it as it was consuming over 5 amps and was quite noisy.

I dunno? Danner name I am unfamiliar with. It is all ABS design mag drive with no metals exposed to water. Working well for me.

(although, I should have drilled my sump and ran an exterior pump so that I wouldn't have the water level so high to accomodate the submersible, but hey, I'm learning)
