There are powders that are considered pet friendly including fish tanks and sprays as well but are harder to come by

I would talk to a professional bug killer they often will give you advice on killing the lil critters and what products to use.

There's also some info on Diatomaceous Earth that was offered to you

I'd go with using soap dishes and lights to start with as it's safest for your finned and furry pets
