Default Wyoming White clownfish coming soon

ReefBuilders

by Jake Adams:

Platinum perculas have been around and widespread for a long time but we can’t say the same for the angelic looking Wyoming White ocellaris clownfish. Originally produced and developed by C-Quest in Puerto Rico, the numbers of Wyoming White clownfish has remained quite low in the marine aquarium hobby. Some aquaculture outfits have been dabbling in Wyoming White ocellaris production but after years of effort Sustainable Aquatics has been able to produce a Wyoming White stable of their own.

Starting with just a single fish Sustainable Aquatics has finally built up enough livestock to begin the limited release of this highly coveted and rare strain of designer clownfish. The first three pairs of Wyoming White clownfish are on display at the World Wide Corals booth here at MACNA – they are being offered at the incredible show-special price of $400 a pair but everyday pricing will probably be closer to $300 a piece. Sustainable Aquatics expects a general release of the Wyoming White clownfish in about four to six months.

It'll be nice to see more Wyoming whites in the future, I personally think they look better than platinums

I like these better as well. They do not look like they are covered in mold like the platinum's do.

Even with C-quest not breeding them they were always around you just had to look.

Those prices are 1/2 of what I was finding them for. I paid $300 for my guy at 3/4", now he is 2x that size and a beautiful fish.

I have been in direct contact with SA in the last few weeks.

We will be carrying their line in the store very shortly, as early as next week

Can somebody explain the difference to me? Between these guys and the platinums? Other then an ever slight smidge more white? What am I missing?
