Default Any Appliance Techs around? Oven is acting up

We have an older Inglis Oven that we are happy with so I'd like to repair it.
I'm pretty sure we need a new temp dial. When we set it for X temp the light goes out, but the broil element is on and food does not cook as it should.
When I dial back the temp dial, the bake element comes on as it should and the oven temp starts to climb to where it should be.
It's an easy clean oven and not convection, so I don't believe it is supposed to run both elements in bake mode.
I tested both elements and get 23 and 24 Ohms, plus, both light up/glow.

So, I'm convinced our temp knob/pot/dial is pooched, but would appreciate some input to confirm this before I replace it as it's not cheap.

Thanks for your help
