I was there last year. Did all my diving off Grand Abaco though. Stuart Cove's if the big operation in Nassau -can't speak for or against it but my personal opinion is you get better service from the smaller operators.

Nassau itself is nice enough -just avoid town when the cruise ships unload.

Good rum for cheap, too (bring me a bottle of "Old Nassau Dark" will ya ? $7 US !!!)

Atlantis on Paradise Island is pretty neat....it's free to walk around.

As for diving I did my diving when we got to St.Thomas. I don't think Nassau has great diving....at least that was the consensus when I looked into it.

Oh... Atlantis!!! -you WANT to check out the aquarium at Altantis. The main tank is enormous and is outside. The glass is part of the foundation of the building and you look from the basement -out. Not cheap ($20 us, I think) but well worth it.

I was fortunate to work at the Club Med on Paradise island for a summer and I can highly recommend the country and the wonderful people of the Bahamas to anyone. Tell a local your from Canada and they want to hear all about snow storms.

Many, many tanks, actually. The big one is perhaps the most impressive because well, it's friggin' huge and it relies on natural sunlight. That, and there is some umm.....large livestock in there.

Some pics:

Pics don't really do it justice but you get the idea.

LoL no nothing quite so serious. Actually the reason I am going is that 1 of my daughters is playing for Team Canada in a Rugby tournament down there so the whole family is going down for 10 days to watch. Should be alot of fun.

Mark- Awesome pictures, I will be checking that out for sure!!!
