Default Coral Banded Shrimp

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a coral banded shrimp and I noticed snail and hermit shells piling up in a corner. Do you think it was the coral banded shrimp? Anyone have any experiences with these guys? I am a little scared that it will go after my fish?

I've never known a coral banded shrimp to touch snail or crab and I've had several CBS not to say it can't happen but it's likely something else in your tank

Totally agree. I've always kept a coral banded shrimp and it never kills hermit crabs or snails. I suspect the killer is another hermit crab. I've found that blue legged hermit crabs kill off any snails it can catch and any smaller hermit crabs. Eventually your left with only one blue legged hermit crab.
