Troy,

Are you looking for a big GPH powerhead?

I have an aquaclear 5000. If you need something for now that is.

935 GPH.

I'd like to know if there's a Canuck supplier of the Turbelles as well. Supposedly they're quite the units, good flow, quiet, and minimal power draw...

Is this 5000 the same model line as the 802, 402, 302, etc.? How is the 5000 is terms of noisiness -- I can't stand the 802's as a PH they rattle way too much for my liking. More or less the same or is it better somehow?

Tony,

The 1000 line is built differently than the 802's 402's etc. It is noisy at start until the air gets out of the impellers but once that happens it is pretty quiet. I ran this sucker on my 90 and I had to take it off. 900GPH was too much for it at the time. Fish sure loved surfing the wave tho. ;)

These powerheads are a different line and seem to have a different maker. But I could be wrong. I'll let you know more once we test it again on Troy's tank on sunday.
