Default HOT Refugium - Best method?

Hi Folks!

I decided to modify an old Ac110 someone gave me into a refugium for my low tech 55g tank. I cleaned out the old filter today, and figured out how I was going to silicone the basket pieces in their new place. Now I just have to wait for the filter to dry before I can apply the silicone. Ill post pictures when I get a change.

Can anyone advise me on the best substrate to use in the my 'fuge and also on the depth of the substrate?

I was also cusious on how long I should run the lights. Ill only be runnig to small three led fixtures, I hope that'll be enough.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks

Vince

I like using the AC110 for an HOT refugium. I cut out half the blades on the impeller for slower flow.
