Default Shlobster dosing pump?

Anyone use the Shlobster dosing pumps from JL? I've been considering getting a dosing pump for 2 part and I came across it. First time I've heard of them...

looks similar to the brs dosers. they're also a 2-roller design and many here use those with success. i don't have direct experience with either though.

Anyone interested in seeing these in operation can come to our shop and see them running on our Red Sea display (2 part, paired with a Digital Aquatics Reef Keeper Lite) or the large bowfront display (top off Kalkwasser).

Questions about the pumps? Fire away!

looking for a pump to use on a continuous feed NPS build. will be using this to pump coral foods (max 1500 microns - cyclopeez).

do you know any one that has used it in this type of application.

Also, 1 ml/min seems very slow - is that correct. By comparison a Tom's Aqualifter pump is rated 220ml/min (30 gph)

what is the max height that the pump is rated for.

Can you post a close up shot of the rollers?

Do the low power usage require plugging this into a relay outlet on a controller (Apex)?

My question is that this is the first time I've heard of the Shlobster brand and I'm not sure how reliable they are. They do seem to be the same construction as the BRS pumps - are they the same pump?

Find out what pumps Darryl V. is using - from what I have heard (and seen) his are reliable. Many are not. Best tank I have seen without a calcium reactor, and you can not have a great tank without stable parameters.

I figure I can answer a couple of these for u.

1.1 ml/min is slow which is why it's a dosing pump. You never want to dose chemicals fast. J&L sells another version of this called the "Shlobster Top Off Pump" which is 50 ml/min. Maybe that's something that would better suit you.

The specifications say it has a 20' TDH (Total Dynamic Head) which is basically the same as max head height I believe.

All in all, the specifications seem very similar to BRS dosing pumps. Dunno if it's the same manufactures or not tho.
