They are known to attack people without provocation and have seen it first hand myself it's just that it's not well reported since other breeds are considered more likely to bite or attack

Collies are prone to biting as they are trained to herd and it is part of their genetic makeup and if they aren't given an outlet to release their ingrained traits can nip, bite and attack with little or no warning however if they are given an outlet to release that built up tension regularly through exercise, herding or agility course runs they can be the consummate pet

This is an anecdote and a typical sensationalized article.

None of the other three mention how the statistics are gathered. Is it total bites/attacks or is it per capita? If it's the former, which I suspect, the information is useless. It's like saying bees are potentially more dangerous than sharks because more people are stung by bees than bitten by sharks.

I really feel sad hearing about this news as I am a dog lover. I don't see any problem with the animal, I think it should be the owner's responsibility to train his/her pet or secure it in a safe area wherein the dog can't harm anyone. I have seen a lot of negative news about dog attacks the past few months. I just hope that this law won't push through.
