Ok so here is a couple pics of the canopy I am building. The wife wanted a shelf above the tank so this is what I came up with. The tank will be sitting in a corner that is a PITA to put anything in.

That's pretty cool. So the 'wings' will float off the sides of the tank or will there be cabinetry underneath?

Thanks Brett, no cabinet on the sides of the tank as I want to be able to see in through them. The whole thing will be fastened to the wall to keep minimal presure on the top of the tank.

Wood work does look good mang!.....what kind of stain you gonna use?

Thanks Dougster, I am going to use the same color stain I used on the 8'er. It's a stain & urathaine all in one, color is Pecan to contrast the roof and floor in my living room.

Thanks bud, I am also thinking of doing the same thing with the wings on the stand once I get the tank complete & running.
