Default ID, and a little advice please

So a little history on the fish before there are a load of pointless questions. I got this fish way back in mid April. Upon arrival it had what appeared to be a minor scrape of some sort right at the base of the dorsal fin and I didn

There must be a character limit for post. Didn’t all post. QT for 39 days Hypo at 1.008, one week of Prazipro and one week of Coppersafe. 3 other fish went thru QT with this guy. Scott’s, Labouti and Achilles. None are showing any signs of this. All eat well...very well in fact and none of them display any signs of stress

It's an infection, prazi, hypo or Copper won't do the trick. You want to be using either Tetracycline, Kanaplex (if bacterial) or Maracyn (if fungal). I'd recommend doing some searches online to figure out which one it is and going from there.

If you're not adverse to another forum, reef2reef has an extensive fish disease and treatment section. Just mention @humblefish in the post, you'll probably get some direction pretty quickly.

Ha ha! I’ve tried the google search thing and I have failed miserably at that. Hoping someone else has experienced this and can help me along my way. Thanks though Albert, you have maybe opened a door for me

Looks to me to be a Viral or Fungal infection.
I'd go with Maracyn 2 if you're going to remove and treat in a QT.

Using Maracyn 2, put the wrasse in a QT with lots of aeration, filtration and low light.
Aeration should not be stressful for the fish Gary, but needs to be strong enough to add more than average aeration because of meds. Lots of surface agitation is a good thing and a powerhead breaking the surface is good too.

If you're using Maracyn 2 follow the instructions well and you'll be fine. Keep lots of spare water on hand for emergency water changes, perform water changes as required and away you go. I said lots of spare water.
Be prepared to change 25-50% every 3-4 days while using M2.
The instructions will tell you how much.

I usually do water changes 2-3 times per week when I have critters in my QT.
And when I'm using chems I keep enough water on hand to change the whole QT at least once, just in case something goes sideways.
