Default Deep sea fishing in Mexico

I am heading to Cancun in a few days and I would like to try deep sea fishing while I am down there. I have never done it so I wonder if some of you have tried it to give me some feedback on your experience. Do you like it? Which company did you go with? Did you get to keep the fish you caught and what did you do with it?
Last time I was down there, I went to Xelha and my kids loved the place. Is there something else down suited for kids? Mine are 6 and 4 years old. Thanks everyone for the info.

My 4 and 2 year old had a blast when we went to Xcaret a few years back. Its easily a full day of entertainment and walking.

Thanks for the info Ross. We will definitely try Xcaret out. We went to the Tulum ruins last time. I enjoyed it but the kids didn't. They were too young to understand history. A rock is a rock to them

One bit of caution. When we were at Xcaret, there were several areas that lack basic safety devices such as hand rails.

Fall off the path...
...go swim with the alligators.

The night show is a decent way to end the day. The history of Mexico is shown in an exciting and well done manor. The flaming ball game was pretty wild.

I don't know about Cancun in particular but I know a number of people who go on fishing tours all the time in Puerto Vallarta and love them. They all have similar experiences, they take you out, you catch lots of fish, they fillet, pack and ice up some of the fish for you to keep (they keep the rest) and then the resorts will usually cook the fish up for you at the end of the day. Go down to the docks and see the boats in advance and talk to the boat owners in person to see exactly what the trip entails and the price.

IT only took about 25mins to land it. I think we were fishing 100-150ft depths.
