My old 3:08 had about 200K on 'er and was acting sticky, so I matted it in the city ( to avoid a highway breakdown ) and it exploded during a 1-2 shift @ about 5500RPM with 405ftlbs and about 350HP

BANG !!!!!!!

I heard shrapnel hit parked cars and set off 2 alarms
Funny thing is, it still rolled 'cause I only sheared the pinion gear shaft

Good ol' chevy power ...

Yikes that sucks

I've realized through this thread that I don't speak car, most of it is Greek it me

Sorry if it bored the non-car crowd but you gotta admit it's an impressive pic
And not to worry, that pic is years old

Last Aug with my 462 in my Trans Am, I came back from a car show in Williams lake. Long line of traffic, Passing lane coming up. So I put my foot down a little, 125kph, nothin big. Get close to the end of the passing lane, Ohh, 2 cars left, I open secondarys, RPM goes to 5000, Pullin great, then nothin. No bang, just no power. Little bit of smoke in rearview. Pull over, now lots of smoke. Engine bay filled with oil.
Turns out, a head gasket went like right now. Filled crankcase up with coolant, and when I let the ponies loose, reverse hydrolocked #5cyl, splitting piston then cracking the block to the water jacket

Blocks since been sleeved, and will be Powdercoating it next week. Just need to order the new stroker crank and other internals, and have my heads redone. Hopin end of May!!!!
Nice Sunday car show turned into a $4000 affair

Nice Self coated, Ceramic and Anti Friction Pistons!

Powder Color for the block

Preliminary Dyno Sim numbers

Seeing as there's some car talk, here's a pic of our last stop at chain lakes yesterday. We started with 16 cars, a mix of vettes, challenger, charger, Shelbys and of course camaros. No blown motors, tires etc, a great day.

There were tons of people out ice fishing. As beautiful as it was yesterday, the wind had a nasty bite to it. We didn't stay long.

Nice. Tomorrow might be going for a drive ourselves back-country style in Kananaskis. Enjoy the snow while it's still there I guess.

It's so pretty in that area! We're going thru again once I get my summer tires back on, we meant to last year in the fall but didn't get to it. Enjoy the day!
