Default Where do you have tank temp at?

How hot do people let their tank get? Where should the temperature sit if you could keep it steady? How much of a variance is safe? I'm starting a nano shortly and I know that this will be more of a problem with it as I'm doing a DIY MH light.

I'm thinking on doing mostly SPS and LPS in this nano, do these corals perfer a certain temp?

I keep mine between 78-81, and I allow the variances. I think it allows a more natural daily cycle in the tank.

We were at 75-77 and just raised it up last night to 78-80. It seems to be holding steady at 80.

Heater comes on at anything under 78.5
Fans go on over anything 79.5
I average at about 80-81 so far. We'll see what happens in the summer <gulp>

78/79 with the use of a chiller. Probably the 1 piece of equipment that had the biggest effect on my SPS, other than my calcium reactor.

I keep mine at alow of 78 to a high of 81. My heater keeps it above 77 and chiller keeps it under 81. I have some heat issues in my tank and when lights are on I don't need a heater in winter , it just keeps it from going to low at night. In summer don"t have to use a heater just the chiller and AC in the room.
