So my glass is only half inch, is the vertex one better or the hammerhead?

I used a cheap mag float on my 3/4" tank without issue. It would let go if you went too fast but I kept my glass clean just fine. More passes with less pressure... and cheap did i mention that?

I have no experience with the Vertex, been using the hammerhead for years. I like that the hammerhead comes with an extra pad and easily velcros on and off. I've owned my hammerhead for 3 years and just replaced the pad with the spare that it came with, recently.

You can't go wrong with the Hammerhead. The customer service is great too. Mine is off warranty and they are still replacing it.
I have 2 Magfloats and the Vertex Hexplex. And I'll say it again. There's no comparison. Plus the Vertex doesn't float and it's same as the Magfloat. If you use in a circular motion it falls off the inner glass.

I've never used or even seen the vertex but if it doesn't float then it's a no brainier to me. I use Hammerhead, I've had the same one for many years and it's seen 4 different tank setups so the extra cost seems to be well worth it.
