Default Rinsing Cheato under the tap?

Because of my AIO compartment setup the cheato in my fuge collects a lot of detrius. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about rinsing the cheato ball under tap water.

I know this not ideal for a saltwater specimen but cheato seems pretty tough. Thoughts?

Depends if you care about washing all the pods and what not living in the chaeto out of it.

You will most likely wash it all off. Maybe just jiggle it in your sump and let the detritus sink to the bottom or into a net.

I wonder... does anyone care enough to read signatures if you make them really small? I would not. I would probably moan and complain, read three words and swear once or twice. But since you made it this far, please rate my builds.

Why not rinsing in a clean bucket of salt water?

You'll still swish away pods in a bucket

It won't hurt the chaeto. I've rinsed mine in pails of freshwater with no I'll effects.

Thanks.
I figured as much but was scared to nuke my cheato as it is my only nutrient export.
