Picture of the Mantis I just removed from my tank
I just found a fairy large mantis shrimp in a piece of live rock I recently added. I was wondering where a couple of damsels had dissapeared to!
Hes about 2 1/4" and fairly red (as opposed to the mostly grey/green ones I've seen). Glad I got him out of my tank before he did much more damage! |

how are you peoples so lucky with all your hitchhikers in your rock? I only got 1 crab. I read of people getting a goby every once in a while, that would be awesome!

My buddy got a rather large Lawnmower Blenny as a hitch-hiker.

How did you get him out of the tank?

Then you should have purchased artificial rock. Wish you were closer and I would come and get that mantis from you.

I was lucky, he was taking up residence in one of my pieces of live rock right at the top of the tank and it was easily removed!

Not too sure yet. He's pretty cool looking, but I don't know if I want to set up yet another tank for him. For hte time being hes living in a deli cup in a sump
