Default Cold Water Tank

Been thinking about doing a cold water tank, full of anenomes, sea pens, sculpins, crabs, sea cucumbers, etc. just like the pacific coast exhibition tanks at Vancouver Aquarium.
Anybody tried this yet? Those green flourescent anenomes look so cool.

Think I would need at least a 500 gal tank to start and a chiller from a crab tank from a chinese restaurant.

Back a few years ago I was looking at setting one up. Did lots of research, and the more I did the more I wanted a cold water tank. Unfortunately in the end, I couldn't afford the extra expense. If you get one up and running I'll have to change my forum name to "Green with envy".

I'm watchin' ya on this Burger. I've got a chiller sitting here beside me that I am trying to decide if I should put it on my reef tank or build myself a coldwater tank. I think the only thing keeping me from doing it is the livestock. I'm a diver and can easily find the livestock, but collecting is a different story. There can be some heavy fines if you get busted. Talk to some of the guys at the "big aquarium" (if you know what I'm talking about). They may have some pointers for you. You could try talking to Skip or Jeff Marliave at VanAqua and maybe see if you can get some of their captive raised sailfin sculpins.

awesome video. That's exactly what I'm envisioning. There is something so serene in a cold water tank. Everything seems to move a lot slower.

Who's tank is that video from?
