Default Flow options for a 120G peninsula tank

I am redoing a 120G 6' marineland RR tank. It is currently setup peninsula style, and will stay that way. There is currently no additional flow in the main tank. The circulation is provided by the sump pump, which is only 2000gph before head loss. I was looking at a vortech or vortechs to do the job but I had a question since I have never used one before. Will I have a more effective wave mode with 1 MP60, or 2 MP40's? Since the 3 sides of the tank are around a children's play area, I am very hesitant to put any power heads in the tank that are not right beside the wall with the cord well hidden. I was also considering a wave box, but I was not sure since I know very few people who that have used them. Maybe a MP40 and wave box?

I guess I should also add I am looking for enough flow to create a nice mixed reef. Some SPS mixed with mainly LPS and softies.

Interfering kiddies aside, a single MP60 will put a lot of flow on one end, basically blasting anything near it, just to create any wave/flow action
2 40s would be a better idea
A wave box may be your best solution if you are concerned about children and hardware
Although, if you can do it, I've seen some nicely built peninsula tanks using a 4-way plumbed around the top

I think the MP60 might be a little much. Two MP40s sounds better.

So 2 MP 40s stuck to the same wall only 6-12" apart still creates good waves? Any maybe just use the far end of the peninsula as the low flow area?

A 4 way on top is not really an option since the tank has no canopy to hide the plumbing.
