Default My 40Gallon Reef

ED's 40Gallon Reef

So my tank has been cycling for 2 weeks now and this weekend I added 20lbs of LR and a small CuC. Here's my setup;

Equipment:
-40Gallon bowfront
-10Gallon sump/refugium
-300GPH from tank to sump
-900GPH wavemaker in-tank circulation,
-Remora Skimmer
-2x24Watt T5 HO (2 powerglo, 2 marineglo)
-1x24 Blue LED strip
-1x6.5K lifeglo bulb for fuge
-DIY pvc overflow (whisper quiet )

Filtration:
-50lbs LR
-10lbs LS in fuge
-30lbs of sand (used to be LS but was stale in bucket for 3 weeks so prob dead)
-Chemipure Elite
-Cheato algae (fuge)

Livestock:
CuC-1 Coral banded shrimp
-5 Ceriths snail
-5 Whelks snail
-1 big sand sifting snail (couldn't ID him other than sand sifting snail)
-6 mini bristle stars
-1 black sea urchin (only there till I move my frags over then he's gone)

Parameters:
Salinity-1.024
PH-8.3
Calcium-420
Ammonia-0
Nitrate-0
Phosphate-0
dKH-9 (179KH)

All of my parameters have been 0 in the last week and throughout this weekend even with the CuC, so I'll be checking throughout the week to see if I get a reading. I've had my diatom and hair algae bloom and now it's all gone due to my fuge I'm assuming. If my parameters remain stable I'll add my yellow watchmen goby next weekend. I know my CuC is small for the time being and I'm looking for suggestions on what to add, must be reef safe as I have many corals to add so no crabs or big snails. Since my SB is about 3" thick I'd like some sand-sifter suggestions. I'll be adding a pink cumber in the coming weeks as the ones I've notice just hangout in a general area so I'm not worried about him knocking corals over (and my wife wants one). I'll keep this post updated and add photos in the coming weeks and if you have suggestions by all means shoot them my way.

Cheers
ED

I notice you list Whelks as intentional livestock... be aware that they are considered a pest by many

I've researched whelks and they'll be fine for my setup as I wont have any SPS or clams so they should be fine. I went with them as they stay small and wont knock stuff over like the others I have in my nano reef.
